COMMENTS During CalStar'08 I tried this famous edge-on galaxy. As with most images takenduring CalStar, I didn't try to take a great image but rather just capture the object,as I was shifting my imaging "duties" with some observing, and it was after observing thisimage that I decided to capture it, and because it's not a very large galaxy, I used theC9.25 instead of the NP101.

COMMENTS If you wonder why there is so little detail in this image, that's because this planetary nebula is extremely small - at least as seen from Earth. It was the first light of the C9.25 and my first small planetary nebula.

COMMENTS After most of the visitors to the Summer Visitor Program at the Lick Observatory had left, I switched targets and I imaged M33 until late at night when everyone had already left. During processing I tried to enhance the HII areas and the core of the galaxy.

COMMENTS
I will not try this object with the Canon camera again.
From the beginning after registration and stacking,
I felt there was not much I'd be able to do with this image,
and although I think I went a bit to hard with the red tones and lowering them
would be a 5 minutes task, I'm going to let it stay. But beware Crescent Nebula.
One day I'll be back (just not with a one-shot color DSLR!!)
