Multi-scale Processing - Revealing very faint stuff: Comments

A very excellent tutorial. I have been using Pix Insight since the beginning but never have experimented much with multi wavelet processing. Your tutorial explained it in great detail with wonderful results. Jon Talbot

Great tutorial, Rogelio!

One thing I do not understand is where in the flow you apply the mask. You say that it is applied to the original image, but you only add SS LS MS?

Maybe I missed something?

Great tutorial Rogelio, but I'm also a bit lost at the end. You mention after adding the mask to the original, to just add up the SS, LS and MS. Should this include the Oringal masked image too?
Thnaks Tom.

Hi Tom. No, you don't have to add the original image, but you could of course do it. That would simply add 1/4 of the original data to the final image (since we're rescaling) somewhat minimizing your changes to the SS/LS/ML images. Notice that I said we could use other formulas instead, and one of the examples I gave was Original SS LS MS.

Thanks Rogelio, I need to play about with it a bit more. Whatever I was doing I ended up with a blurred final outcome. It looked like I had justed combined everything into the "LS" image.
I image from Spain too, North of Albox in the hills. Bit too windy these last few days though.
