Pre-CCD Nebula Images
Following are the images I captured during what I could describe as my "Introduction to Astrophotography" period. Virtually all of them were taken with Canon DSLR cameras, except the first four, which I consider to be my getting used to using a CCD images. While some people are doing amazing work with DSLR cameras - especially now that you can easily add cooling to them and the CMOS chips are getting better - in my case you can probably see there's a before and after in my images as I switched from DSLR to CCD. I mainly make this division because generally speaking, the images you see below are those of a person who's mainly learning the basics of astrophotography and astroimage processing, and none of the images should be used as a reference for anything other than seeing the type of images I was producing when I started doing astrophotography. I no longer do many of the things I used to do then, and certainly I have also learned a great deal about things I should do that I wasn't doing before.
