Magical Kee Nights

I don’t have one favorite spot in Hawai’i. There’s just too many. Perhaps I could make a group of about 20~30 places that I know have the ability to change someone in positive and interesting ways. They really do, and it’s not difficult. Oh but always at night! That said, there’s a few places that seem to come to mind more often than others, perhaps because those places did that to me: Polihale, Halawa, Kilauea, Papohaku, Mauna Kea, … And here! Kee Beach in Kauai. But remember, not during daytime, at night!! When there’s rarely a soul there and the stars are but yours.Kee beach is also the gateway to the Kalalau trail, to me, the most breathtaking (and at times daring) hike you can take in the entire Hawaiian islands. Ariana and I started the trail many years ago, didn’t finish it. I also had an “I could have died” experience in 2013 when I attempted to do the trail at night and it started to rain (such an Einstein that I am sometimes). Now, I wouldn’t dare to try it unless I became a lot more fit than I am now (not much lol)..It doesn’t matter though, because the beach is down here, and if you asked me, there aren’t many other places on Earth I would rather spend the night than at Kee… Or Polihale, or Halawa, or…!!!
