The story

After spending most of my time in 2012 doing nightscape photography, I finally decided to undust my deep-sky gear, and I started working on a project of a view I had done a few years ago but that I had never been quite happy with it: the area in Perseus/Taurus zone where we can see a vast field that features both the California nebula and the famous Pleiades, as well as other less known objects. I then used data from both images plus 57 hours of additional exposure. As it often happens in my deep-sky images, my interest was not only the main characters but also anything that might be there as well. In this case, numerous molecular clouds of dust reminding us that the night sky is often filled with structures that often escape the eye, and even the camera. To give an idea of the vast field of view covered in this image, on the top-right corner I’ve placed an image of the moon at scale (as seen from Earth).

Fuji Pearl paper is a super high gloss finish, archival paper. It has a better gloss than glossy photo paper, thicker paper and it contains pigments and other materials that give purer whites and sharper, better defined highlights. We ship our prints flat, not rolled, regardless of the size.

Metal prints are a modern and visually striking way to display photographs. The printing process involves infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets, resulting in vibrant and durable prints with a unique, high-gloss finish. Metal prints are always shipped ready to hang.
