A Night to Remember

Here, at Polihale, is where Ariana and I spent a timeless night, gazing at the starry sky, witnessing countless Perseid meteor glowing streaks, under a perfect weather, with the beach all to ourselves… Writing all this may sound presumptuous and perhaps a bit corny (if it hasn’t, just keep reading), especially since the photo could be seen as just another Milky Way image with little foreground features, but as I often say, sometimes we forget that photographs are as much a display of art as they are the recording of a memory. While most people will look at the image for a bare second and scroll down to the next photo, the memories behind this “simple” photo are for me to last a lifetime, and these words are simply written to share the reasons why this image is in fact so special to me. Yes, it was a night to remember – the view in the photo just helps a bit bringing those memories back from such magical night.
