The story

This photo doesn’t do justice to the magnificent view the Waimea Canyon actually gives. Located in the island of Kauai and also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, it appears here illuminated by moonlight. I captured this mosaic in the only chance I had, as the only other nights that could provide some moonlight were largely overcast (let’s not forget this area isn’t far from the wettest spot on Earth). The lights in the distance are from the town of Waimea.
