Rest Spot

On the long way back home (from Alvord Desert,OR to Sunnyvale,CA), once you’re out of the dirt road and enter a 100 miles 2-lane straight road, somewhat half way there’s this small, pintoresque and lonely rest area where I’ve got used to stop. It’s a lonely place, so I was surprised to see a guy taking a nap inside his car by one of the two carpots. I went on my usual routine, including trying to take a picture of the place and the moment. It was around 2am… The night was still, quiet, no wind, not even a breeze. With over 10 hours driven that day and about to do another 8 (naptime is on the menu, mind you!), not to mention the adrenaline rush you just went through back at the desert and that it is still kicking (the night isn’t over), your brain can be in a peculiar state at a place and a moment like this.
